15 Years of Making Miracles

After 15 years of partnership with CMN Canada, we are proud to announce that with the dedication of our associates and the generosity of our Friends, Family and customers alike, we have been able to direct $976,668 to Children's Miracles Network Member Hospitals in communities across Canada.

In honour of our 15-year partnership, we would like to share with you the story of Liam - a 7-year-old boy living with Cystic Fibrosis who is being treated by one of the CMN Member Hospitals. Every donation you make goes directly towards helping kids like Liam live a happy, healthy and a long life.

Liam’s Story... Age 7 | Cystic Fibrosis

Liam was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) weeks after he was born -  a disease that causes his body to produce thick sticky mucus that affects his lungs, pancreas, and other organs. It requires him to receive care from healthcare professionals at McMaster Children’s Hospital and SickKids Hospital.

Liam and his family say they are incredibly grateful for the care and compassion they receive from Liam’s professional caregivers at both hospitals. They reflect on times like last year, when Liam developed a serious infection and was admitted to hospital, where the kind and caring staff were able to take a scary situation and turn it into an experience that had Liam smiling and feeling positive.

Liam loves going to the park with his friends, playing with Lego, and watching superhero movies. Plus, he is a HUGE fan of professional hockey, most notably the Toronto Maple Leafs with Austin Matthews as his favourite player.

Like those around him, Liam is a giver with a kind heart who goes the extra mile to make the people around him happy. He also participates in many fundraising events as a “CF Warrior” to raise awareness for Cystic Fibrosis. He has also been featured on numerous television programs, including CTV News. Liam says he likes to spread joy wherever he goes.

Reflecting on his experiences, Liam also wrote a book called  “Liam, Strong As A Tree” and is using its proceeds to support one of his local children’s hospitals. To order your copy of “Liam, Strong As A Tree” and to support Liam in meeting his goal of raising $25,000 to earn his very own plaque on the “Wall of Sponsors” at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto, please click on this link.

Liam has an amazing outlook on life. Thanks to his perseverance and enthusiasm, the dedication of his hospital caregivers, and the love and support of his family, he is doing well! This winter Liam got the opportunity to play in the snow for the first time and is looking forward to exciting new experiences in the years to come!
