We are seeking a strong, detail-oriented Accountant to join the Accounting department. This opportunity suits individuals who are highly-motivated, and thrive in high energy work environments. Reporting to Sr. Manager of Financial Reporting you will be responsible to support the areas of Financial and Accounting Services, assist in month end closing and financial reporting including other general financial accounting functions. 


  • Oversee the maintenance of the Chart of accounts
  • Assist in monthly/quarterly financial statements
  • Complete monthly reconciliations on assigned GL accounts
  • Assist with all month end processes including variance analysis
  • Assist in coordinating the preparation of the annual budgets and financial forecasts
  • Assist with bank and year-end audits
  • Prepares monthly and year-to-date financial reports to be distributed to management
  • Participation in the preparation and enhancement of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packages for internal and external purposes
  • Assist with cash flow requirements
  • Assist in maintaining policy and procedure documentation for complex financial and accounting issues
  • Maintains financial controls by following policies and procedures, complying with government regulations
  • Act as back up support to other Accounting functions
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary


  • Bachelor degree in Business (Accounting/Finance)
  • Minimum of 2-3 years in Accounting with experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis in a retail environment as asset
  • CPA/CGA designation preferred
  • Sound knowledge and experience with computerized accounting systems preferably NAV
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office, MS Access and advanced skills in Excel
  • Good level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts
  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and ability to multi-task, prioritize and work well under pressure to meet deadlines
  • A team player who is accountable, adaptable to changing parameters, has a drive for results attitude and values working in a collaborative environment 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
