Vice President, Design & Product Development 


  • The role of the Design Assistant is responsible for assisting the Product Design team in the production of our apparel product development process. The role is accountable for the following: 



Design Administration

  • Responsible for graphic sketches of all product
  • Develops line sheets as a product planning and communication tool
  • Works closely with the VP to prepare visual communication tools for the merchant team
  • Works with VP, Design & Product Development on analysis of quarterly sales data
  • Works with the design team to create concept and theme boards

Colour Administration

  • Works closely with vendors and Quality Assurance to verify colour quality standards have been met
  • Updates colour charts 
  • Works with colour service resources 
  • Helps with the communication process for the colour and the related collection packages for the buying teams
  • Maintains library of artwork for referencing


  • Shows initiative in partnering with a variety of internal team members on team projects
  • Partners with other Product Design and Graphic Art team members to complete teams’ needs 
  • Participates in meetings and team projects 
  • Communicates all necessary information timely to other team members
  • Provides specific feedback on opportunities within product procurement process



  • Colour theory background and a critical eye for colour
  • Working knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop CS6 or greater
  • Post secondary education in a Fashion related program
  • Knowledge of Graphic Art Design 
  • Fluent in excel
  • Apparel retail experience an asset 
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written 
  • Team-oriented, yet works well independently
  • Good organizational and prioritizing skills
